Facebook Family, used by millions of people, became endangered, life seemed to be disrupted when last Monday, Facebook and several other apps including Messenger, WhatsApp, Oculus and Instagram, were not accessible for some hours which snatches away more than 51,764 crore rupees from Mark Zuckerberg living the whole world facing A huge problem in their respective fields. It directly demonstrates how much the whole world has become dependent on these communication platforms.

According to the users, an error message from Facebook, WhatsApp, Messenger or Oculus started appearing around 11:40 on Monday morning. All these important means of communication disappeared at that very moment. After a long six-hour hiatus these apps were gradually accessible to the people. This incident had been considered as “One of the rarest as well as largest global outages that had been ever recorded” -by some reputed monitoring services after analyzing more than 1.6 crore reports about the incident worldwide.

The Primary Reason Behind This Outage

Given the current situation, hacking has become one of the biggest problems in cybersecurity threats. Hence, the primary question that appears on behalf of the users is, whether such a breach of Facebook is the result of any kind of successful hacking? But Facebook’s vice president of infrastructure and technology executives said that the idea of the users is “impossible” and described it as “probably an internal infrastructure glitch.”

According to various experts, the confusion can only come from within the organisation because Facebook’s network setup is conducted in a highly confidential manner. As a result, it is primarily impossible for hacking to occur.  It’s just the network setup that was inadvertently changed by the Facebook engineers that had created such a cascading set of problems.

Reactions started pouring on from all sides including the leaders of the globe techs.  Facebook’s Co-founder and owner, Mark Zuckerberg, right after spotting the issues publicly apologies to the users and thanked users for being with them. WhatsApp and Instagram also didn’t delay much to tweet about the inconvenience caused to the users.

The disruption has caused different problems for everyone from ordinary people to different businessmen. Mark, a startup founder of Ireland, says that Facebook and Instagram are their only resources in reaching out to fashion brands to their customers. Such deviations from Facebook have done a lot of damage to their business. According to the owners of various food services in Delhi, they could not deliver food orders to their clients within the stipulated time as they took most of the orders through Facebook or WhatsApp. Such incidents of Facebook have been considered as a huge collapse for business. Many online jobs of ordinary people are used to log in most of the time through Facebook. Therefore, such cases have created lots of problems in their workplace.

Effects of the outage for the company

The Whistleblower’s push has already shaken the inside of Facebook and this kind of situation has aggravated the situation thereby causing Mark Zuckerberg’s net worth plummeting about 6.5 billion. According to a report in the US media “The Wall Street Journal”, various tweaks to Facebook were revealed based on information from ‘Whistleblower’ about the adverse effects of Instagram on the mental health of adolescents has already caused a stir among the Facebook company in its whistleblower claims. This situation, later on, has reduced the share on Facebook by about 5% Which witnessed the biggest downfall of this company.

Cow flayers chief technology officer John Graham, who helps to drive direct traffic to Facebook said in an interview that the company would soon be able to bring such deviations back to normal. This is only a situation caused by incorrect configuration which the technical expert team will be able to restore very quickly. Since it is not for the first time that Facebook is in news due to any negative patch, therefore it would be better for Mark Zuckerberg to reconstruct its infrastructure and Systems rather than just blindly acquiring all micro blogging sites to be the “Face of the Technology”.
